The Department of Waste Management and Green infrastructure of the Municipality of Paros brought and planted 30 carob trees in the Park. Carob, this blessed tree, so beneficial to our fragile island ecosystem, which has fed humans and domestic animals for centuries, has been forgotten and its place in the Cycladic landscape has been degraded. Few minutes are enough to cut a tree, but it takes decades to grow a tree. The regeneration of Paros Park is not an easy task and it takes a lot of time, patience and perseverance to restore the landscape and help it find its balance. But with the help and cooperation of public and private bodies and above all the island’s inhabitants, everything is possible.
