On Sunday 2 June we invite you to Paros Park for the World Environment Day

We care for the Park, we care for the Cyclades

Despite the intense preparations in the Park for the tourist season ahead, those people who consider that Parian nature is the most valuable resource of the island will meet in the Park on Sunday 2 June to actively celebrate our 10-year anniversary as well as World Environment Day, 5 June.

Together with the Association of Friends of the Park, Naias nautical club of Naoussa, Paros Walkers and the Paros Photographic Group, we will clean the beaches of the park, we will walk our botanical garden under construction and our recent anti-erosion earthworks, we will learn in practice about the innovative actions against plastic pollution happening in Paros and Syros, and we will finish with a feast to celebrate our old and new collaborations.

Our partners:

  • The team “Clean Blue Paros” under the auspices of Common Seas, that will present their goals and proposals for the systematic reduction of plastic waste on the island.
  • The Cooperative “Environmental Park Apano Meria Syros”, who will set up a creative plastic recycling lab for a day.
  • The Cyclades Preservation Fund, a valuable ally to a number of environmental actions that are currently taking place in the Cyclades.
  • The following services of the Municipality of Paros: Environment and Civil Protection Department, Urban Planning, Building and Environment Service, Department of Waste Management and Green infrastructure.

We have the pleasure to invite you to participate in this event of action and celebration, on Sunday 2 June from 9.30 am, bringing with you reusable gloves and bags, your plate and drinking container, and above all your enthusiasm and determination to help Park Paros continue to be a benchmark for sustainable tourism in the Cyclades the next ten years..
